We loved your suggestion, Bethany, and invited people to use this as a poetry prompt! :) Looking forward to seeing what poetry might be found in the back of the closet. :)
Back of the closet..I didn't feel like I would need to access it often, thinking I would remember its contents. Lesson learned-always label contents on outside of box!
Contents Broken water bottle, worthless, can't even give it to Goodwill. Ah, it's a momento! Value is entirely personal. But I never imagined I would forget what it is a momento of! Lesson learned: label all momentos!
Jacket, Easy! It could go to Goodwill but I kept it. It's a Gift from someone I value. Maybe Grandma!? But I never imagined I would forget the giver. Lesson learned: label all Gifts you don't want to give away with Giver's name. No more ominous box!
I wonder how many things I have hidden from myself over the years, only for future me to find them and feel scathing disappointment... then hide those things again from myself!
Intriguing. Could be a great poetry prompt
ooh, good idea!

Oh how fun! Looking forward too! Art begets art--
Where is this invitation/place to respond to the prompt? :D
because it's not possible to respond on the crosspost at our place, we're asking people to drop their poems here at Sadbook. :) Thanks for asking!
Great! Just making sure I had the right spot. ;)

No more ominous box! (but some ominous labels?) ;)
