I grew up practicing drawing with pencil. I remember making the leap to drawing with a pen during high school, and how scary that was. I would spend a couple of hours on each drawing, so it was a pretty big investment back then!
oh yeah, drawing with pen can definitely be a bit more nervewracking and was more so especially when I first started out. When I drew my graphic novels, I sometimes made thumbnails but I didn't sketch first on the page with pencil so I just had to hope the lines turned out good lol. It is a lot faster though!
The trade-off in speed means you get to have a lot of fun while creating, right? I have tended to think that often results in more vibrant, creative work (even if it's not as tidy or neat overall).
